Emotional intelligence IS important in life. It's difficult to achieve, though, when you have something like Asperger's Syndrome. Such a condition makes you alien to those around you because the connections just aren't there, and you live "outside the box". And, when connection finally DOES come about, making it so the "aspie" can relate and actually enjoy his/her fellow human beings, he or she is usually middle-aged, or older, making it so they feel they missed out, living life as a "nerd". Oh well. Still, though, while living "outside the box", you might discover something others haven't seen, and, when the connection is made, possibly contribute to the human condition in a positive way, even if you're life is now concluding.
