I would stick the cabbage on the higher end of that paddle and row with it.

I had an advantage; raising four boys close in age. There were times that we couldn't leave them alone for even a second without risking the loss of the goat or the cabbage.

Of course, this doesn't address the issue of being in a rowing boat with a wolf (not recomended for longevity
wolf would be too full to be concerned about ;-)

Now that you have your goat, wolf, and cabbage on the other bank, don't ask us what to do with them; because you'll get answer.

Lets see now ....hmmm.
You force feed the cabbage to the wolf and take him across the river.
Go back and get the goat.
Upon your return the wolf has vomited the cabbage as he is a meat eater.
Now all three are on the other side ...a little wear and tear on the cabbage but the job is done.

GM - How could you ?? You've just infringed on the cabbage's "freedom" - incarcerated without trial within the wolf's stomach, denegrated it's right to life & insulted the wolf (forced consumation of a non-meat product against it's religion), all in one sentance....
Shame on you......
Sarcasm/off.......

Well I wasn't going to eat it! The goat will, even if was processed by the wolf. The wolf probably needed a cleansing due to his diet of red meat. I consulted the wolf and he responded ... "over my dead body" I responded "your choice" .
He ate the cabbage. The lesser of two evils I guess.

the answer is really very easy, but in a practical world it would be best to break up the row boat, start a fire, slaughter the goat, chop up the cabbage, mix em together make a stew & enjoy dinner, then send out the wolf under gov't contract to raid the sheeps' barn for tommorrow nights dinner. & oh yeah you can take a swim in the river for exercise but wait one hour after eating or I'll tell your mother
