I had a kidney transplant at the age of 42. I had smoked a lot since I was 14. The doctors told me I should stop smoking when I had the transplant. So I did. No problem. What might have helped was that I couldn't get out of bed for about 5 days after the surgery. By then the urge to smoke was gone. Still reached for the imaginary pack in my shirt pocket for a few months, but never felt the physical need to smoke and still don't. Hey, folks. It only takes 72 hours to clear your body of the physical need. The rest is mind power. You can do it.
